I would like to respectfully acknowledge the land on which the University of Toronto is located. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. This territory is the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Covenant and Wampum between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Three Fires Confederacy, and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources in and around the Great Lakes. Today, the digital space and conceptual place that we are meeting in as well as the meeting place of Tkaranto (Toronto) are still the home of many Indigenous people and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on this land.
